Anti-Human Trafficking Presenter Training

10/25/2018 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET

Description

Human trafficking is modern-day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act.  It is estimated that human trafficking generates many billions of dollars of profit per year, second only to drug trafficking as the most profitable form of crime.  It is a $290 million illegal industry in Georgia alone!

To combat this evil, Justice and Peace Ministries is offering training for anyone who would like to learn how to present on this topic in their own parish and community.  You will learn how to know the signs of human trafficking in both victims and perpetrators, identify those who are at risk of being trafficked, and what to do and who to contact.  You will also learn how to pass on these important and life-saving skills to others.

This training session will be held on Thursday, October 25, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Archdiocesan Chancery, 2401 Lake Park Drive SE, Smryna, GA 30080.

For questions, contact Kat Doyle, Director of Justice and Peace Ministries, at kdoyle@archatl.com or 404-920-7897.
